"I just want to let you know that all the changes in OCERS have been great! They have helped me to keep up-to-date with the services provided on all the children and the initial input is just much faster with all the columns side by side."

Rosemary Coronado
Program Staff

“I want to let you know how much I appreciate having the online evaluation system (OCERS) available to me as a grant recipient to report our project’s progress to rather than submitting hardcopy reports. OCERS is much more efficient and helps both the Commission and our agency track the progress of our project on a monthly basis. I will admit that, in the beginning, I was a little leery of taking an online program for evaluation purposes. Now, after using OCERS for four months, I wish that all grant administrators had this system available for grantees to use!”

Tara Sidman

“By using the OCERS Data System for the last 2 years, the system has guided our program to build an effective tracking system. Monitoring the areas in which children and families are learning and developing well in to plan an effective program. The OCERS Data System is a tool that guides our program in evaluating the program goals and expectations to determine whether the program achieves their outcomes.”

“CS&O brings a wealth of expertise in developing applications for large, complex systems. Their focus on outcomes has been invaluable to us in developing our programs, contracts and workplans. The Administrative Management Module of OCERS, which we have fully implemented, provides the potential for a streamlined method of contract development and monitoring.”

Sean Casey
Deputy Director
Contra Costa Children and Families Commission (California)

“CS&O has a high level of expertise in database and outcomes system development and management, the ability to think outside the box, and the resources to commit. CS&O is responsive, accessible, able to make and meet commitments, and able to work with the often changing needs of human service providers. By definition, working with a collaborative is more complicated and CS&O has the ability to be both clear and flexible.”

Dave Droppa
Project Director
Allegheny County Outcomes Collaborative, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

“In this day and age when everyone is only communicating through electronic means, it’s nice to know that you can still find a company willing to give you the human touch that is often missing.”

Elizabeth Garcia

“CS&O provides our Commission with the Outcome Collection, Evaluation and Reporting Service (“OCERS”)… we are extremely satisfied with the progress we’ve made with CS&O’s assistance, and I highly recommend their professional evaluation design and implementation services…”

Michael M. Ruane
Executive Director
Children and Families Commission of Orange County (California)

“Five years ago, CS&O built our home visiting management information system/database and several years later, added a Targeted Case Management-Medi-Cal module so that our program could electronically bill for services. CS&O’s design team created an intuitive and attractive user-friendly system. But most importantly, at every level of our program-from line staff to administration-the CS&O staff has been consistently professional, patient and responsive. Many of the program staff had no computer experience. Their tech support group empowers our program line staff and they have been very responsive and timely in responding to program report requests. The entire staff would join me in highly recommending CS&O.”

“I wanted to send off a short email regarding the excellent customer service Garden Grove Hospital has received from CS&O. Through the months I've had changes in staff and CS&O has ALWAYS gone out of its way to provide us with quick and top quality customer service. CS&O being able to come out to our individual hospitals is extremely important because they understand what we do and experience on a day-to-day basis. No matter what changes, I know that their response time and excellent customer service will remain the same.”

“…With the technical assistance, and the in-person training that we receive, PEDS provides a secure and confidential system for collecting, reviewing and maintaining clients’ data.

“With the PEDS program it is easy to generate specific reports in data collected at any time of the week or for a specific period of time. The reports that can be generated include summaries of participants and activities by ethnicity, demographics, age groups, etc. The database also provides a quick view of the number of contacts, duration of the services, and the total amount of time served for individual participants.

“With the reports obtained from PEDS, it has become easier to fulfill the requirements for the quarterly reports because the data retrieved is easy to analyze, and understand. In addition, the information entered in PEDS can be used to track progress toward outreach, and recruitment efforts. It is also helpful in the identification of gaps in service delivery among clients registered in the asthma program.

“Most importantly, PEDS supports the collection of consistent data across all programs funded by the First 5 California that illustrate best practices, and highlights programs strengths. The information may be used to educate policy-makers, and funders about the importance of the sustainability of local, funded programs.”

“Impact of PEDS on Local Project… From data collection to data entry, the process has been a rewarding experience. In addition to having access to valuable information, our organization has benefited in other ways related to financial sustainability.

“Compiling progress reports has never been easier since using the PEDS program. Although the process of data entry can be time consuming, the outcome benefits prove to offset the costs associated with collecting and entering the data. Having access to PEDS, enables us to feel more confident that the data we are tracking is reliable and useful. We can also guarantee that as we present our data to the local commission, that it is not only true and accurate but was acquired with diligence.

“It provides us with a method of maintaining short and long-term indicators such as attendance, participation, and demographic data related to the age of the child. As we prepare grant applications, we have relied on being able to extract demographic and behavioral indicators from the Report utility.

“Since we have been using PEDS, the overall integrity of the program can be documented. We feel it has given us more credibility with our funder. This can be seen in our effort to maintain consistent data collection where our compliance level is at 99%. This gives us an indication that our clients value the registration process which we believe reflects our pride and assurance in the system.

“Another benefit of complying with PEDS involves the acquiring the parental consent forms. This form is another way of added protection of privacy as well as liability for our organization. We appreciate having access to the professional templates that could be modified specifically to include our organization’s name and address. “As you can see, PEDS is a beneficial system that we believe can be used as a model all other public entities receiving public funding.”

“Please accept my positive praise for CS&O in their flexibility working with me in engaging three of the Children and Families Commission grantees in training. CS&O went out of its way to provide a special training for this group of Family Resource Center Coordinators who needed to get their OCERS accounts set up and updated. The immediate response working with us has been greatly appreciated.”
